GYM 4 ALL
Gym 4 All is Swan Academy's core recreational programme for children aged 5 and above. Whether your child has progressed from Mini Tots or is joining us for the first time, this class builds on fundamental movement skills and introduces more structured gymnastics across all four apparatus: floor, beam, bars and vault. Sessions are fun, challenging and designed to develop strength, flexibility, coordination and confidence at every level. It's gymnastics for everyone, delivered to an elite standard.
WHAT YOU'LL EXPERIENCE:
Coached sessions across floor, beam, bars and vault every week
Progressive skill development from basic shapes and rolls through to cartwheels, handstands and beyond
A structured badge and award scheme aligned to national gymnastics standards
Regular assessment points with feedback from qualified coaches
Watching weeks each term so parents can see progress first hand
A supportive team environment where children push each other to improve
WHO THIS IS FOR:
Open to children aged 5 and above of all abilities. Whether your child is a complete beginner or has been doing gymnastics for years, Gym 4 All caters to every level. Classes are grouped by age and ability so your child is always working with others at a similar stage. It's also the pathway into our Development and Junior Squad programmes for children who show potential and commitment.
SKILLS THEY WILL LEARN:
Cartwheels, handstands and round-offs
Forward and backward walkovers (progression dependent)
Vault entry and basic vaulting technique
Bar skills including pull-overs, back hip circles and casting
Beam routines with turns, jumps and balances
Floor sequences combining multiple skills
Strength, flexibility and body conditioning
Badges and Assessments:
Gym 4 All follows a structured badge programme that gives children clear goals to work towards each term. Coaches assess progress regularly and award badges as skills are achieved. Children who consistently demonstrate strong ability, work ethic and attitude may be recommended for our Development Squad or Junior Squad programmes.
Watching Weeks:
Parents are invited in each term to watch sessions and see what their children have been working on. Coaches are available to discuss progress, answer questions and talk about potential next steps including squad pathways.
Shows and Competitions:
Gym 4 All gymnasts have the opportunity to take part in both our annual club showcase and external competitions throughout the year. The showcase is a chance for every gymnast to perform in front of family and friends, while competitions give children the experience of performing under pressure in a supportive environment. We enter gymnasts into regional competitions and our own Swan Ruby Cup, Swan Emerald Cup and Swan Diamond Cup pathway, giving children structured competitive progression without needing to leave the club. Coaches will let you know when your child is ready to compete and will prepare them fully before any event. Competition is always optional and never pressured.
Gym 4 All is Stevenage's most popular recreational gymnastics programme for children aged 5 and above, open to all abilities.
